Many people we work with use acupuncture right the way through their pregnancy. This clinic specialises in supporting people with fertility issues, so once people achieve a successful positive test they continue to come for acupuncture all the way through to birth. We understand that pregnancy after fertility struggles can be difficult and we are here to support every step of the way.

Can acupuncture help induce labour?
Induction is a western medical treatment to start labour when it is deemed necessary for labour to begin. Acupuncture can’t work in the same way, however it is excellent for preparing the body and mind thus encouraging the woman into a relaxed, open space for entering into labour. There are specific acupuncture protocols which can encourage labour to begin. These acupuncture treatments work by turning off the stress hormones of the body (cortisol and adrenaline) and encourage the labour inducing hormones (oxytocin). This can then allow the body to spontaneously begin labour.
Can acupuncture help after labour?
Acupuncture can be a great post natal support. It can help new Mums recover strength and energy and maintain health when there are so many demands being placed on the body. It can be good for problems with breast feeding and any post delivery aches and pains.
