Acupuncture for fertility and women’s health
We are a leading London acupuncture clinic for IVF, Natural Fertility, Women’s Health and Pregnancy.
We are a team of five fertility acupuncturists, here to support your journey to parenthood with our expert specialist services.
We dedicate our work to fertility, women’s health and pregnancy. We have in-depth knowledge, extensive training, years of experience and a commitment to ongoing education. By specialising in this way we offer the best support, treatment and guidance for the people we work with.
We have full licenses to practice acupuncture and belong to a regulatory governing body. We also have considerable further training in fertility and each of us holds or is studying towards the Advanced Fertility Diploma, the gold standard of fertility training for acupuncturists.
Treatment with us involves one-to-one care (we never see two people at once). All initial consultations are for one and a half hours and our follow up appointments last for one hour. We believe in prioritising having time with you to listen, support and treat. Please see our podcast if you’d like to hear more about acupuncture.

How does acupuncture work?
This video from our governing body, The British Acupuncture Council gives a great explanation on how acupuncture works.
When you come for treatment, please feel free to ask away and we will always be happy to explain about what we are doing and why. All practitioners hold a license to practice acupuncture and are fully insured.
What happens during an acupuncture treatment?
- Prior to your appointment we send you a health questionnaire and ask for relevant medical information & test results you have had in the past.
- Your initial consultation will be for one and half hours, where we discuss your health history, your journey so far and what you’d like from treatment with us.
- During your treatment we will feel your pulse and look at your tongue and then you get to have a lovely lie down while we insert the smallest needles. Usually you have about 20 to 25 minutes with the needles in, where you can rest, relax deeply and listen to music if you like.
- We then follow up with a written bespoke treatment plan. This includes lots of information, any tests we might recommend and the next steps.
How many treatments do I need?
We like to work with people for at least three months, the frequency will vary from person to person but we know that change can take time and really is dependent on lifestyle, duration of the issue and what the issue is. Three month preparation is important for optimal impact on egg quality, hormone balance and sperm health. If you’d like to find out more about why we talk about 3 month prep please see our blog.
What should I do before I come for acupuncture?
Have something to eat, wear loose clothing if possible and don’t worry about what pants you’re wearing or if you’ve shaved your legs.
What will I feel and are there any side effects?
Sometimes in the areas around where the needles are placed you can feel a heaviness, a pressure or a sensation, it’s hard to describe and everyone experiences it differently. It will not hurt, and if it does we will remove the needle. During treatment many people have a nap (acunap) or feel a sense of calm and relaxation. Some people can feel a bit spacey after treatment, this doesn’t last long (unfortunately!). Rare occasions the needles can leave bruises but they are usually very small and quickly go.
We offer acupuncture for :

” I would highly recommend Hannah and her team for acupuncture. We had been trying to get pregnant for over two years and underwent multiple rounds of IVF. I decided to try acupuncture on my last FET and we got lucky! Acupuncture really helped me to clear my mind and relax, and of course it helps with the blood flow. Hannah and Jo are very knowledgable around all things fertility and so warm and friendly (you feel like you have known them for ages). Thank you for everything Jo and Hannah! ”
